CINQUE TERRE DAY TRIP

CINQUE TERRE Day trip usually from Florence

Many people ask us how and if it is possible to visit the Cinque Terre in one day. Of course it is possible but it is not ideal considering the vastness of the Cinque Terre area and the multitude of things to see and do. Often they ask us if it is possible to visit the Cinque Terre starting from Florence in a day. The ideal if you start from Florence, is to get up very early and take the train to La Spezia or Monterosso. From one of the latter two stations it is possible to move with the regional train also called 5Terre Express. The train is certainly the best way to stop quickly from one village to another. What to see absolutely: You must absolutely go down to visit Vernazza, perhaps the smallest and most characteristic, with its beautiful bay and small harbor, you can take an ice cream or an aperitif overlooking the sea, admire the coast and appreciate this corner of paradise reachable only by train or by boat. Monterosso is also worth a visit, in particular the old citadel, with its narrow streets, typical shops and enjoy a quick seafood lunch in one of the many hidden restaurants in the historic village. If you still have a little time, take a dip from the beach of Monterosso before getting back on the train and continue towards Riomaggiore, where you can admire the most characteristic view of the local architecture, widely advertised and posted online. The time at your disposal, at this point is probably over and you just have to take the train back to your city of origin, knowing that next time you will still have to finish visiting Manarola and Corniglia (the most perched and difficult to reach because once you get off the train, or take a small bus, or you have to walk about 20 minutes on a staircase)
